Keith Smart

Keith Smart

Surrey-born Keith Smart is a musical chameleon with a penchant for 60s-inspired sounds and a knack for reinvention. As the frontman of M.I.5, he rode the new wave alongside The Jam and Generation X, even laying down tracks at Ringo's pad (yes, that Ringo). Their single caught John Peel's ear and sparked a "Record of the week" nod, though Smash Hits wasn't quite as smitten. Undeterred, Keith's musical odyssey led him to lend his talents to the OG Nirvana (sorry, Kurt) and form Eye to Eye, whose singles got the Abbey Road treatment. When he's not crafting tunes or fronting his latest venture, St Johns Wood Affair, you might find Keith penning articles as a bona fide guitar historian. From the scooter clubs of Surrey to the hallowed halls of rock history, Keith Smart's career is proof that good music, like a fine vintage guitar, only gets better with age.
