Nash Albert

Nash Albert

From Soviet Folk to Rock'n'Roll Freedom Fighter

Meet Nash Albert, the Georgian guitarist who turned the Iron Curtain into a Marshall stack. Back when rock'n'roll was contraband and Beatles records were worth their weight in rubles, Nash was busy plotting his escape – from traditional folk songs to smuggled vinyl, dreaming of amplifiers instead of apparatchiks.

After conquering America's club circuit (and catching Atlantic Records legend Ahmet Ertegun's ear), Nash landed in 1996 Moscow like a musical meteorite. His band BLAST became the unofficial soundtrack to Russia's wild west period, where capitalism and chaos danced to the same beat. These days, he's crafting sonic gold with producer royalty like Youth (The Verve, Pink Floyd) and Tim Palmer (Pearl Jam, U2), and recording in the Georgian mountains where it all began. From Soviet folk singer to international rock'n'roll diplomat, Nash Albert's story proves that sometimes the best music comes from bridging the unlikeliest borders. His latest album "Kingdom of Love" isn't just a collection of songs – it's a testament to the power of six strings and a dream.
