John Weider

John Weider

John Weider didn’t just change bands—he changed the temperature of every room he entered. A London-born multi-instrumentalist with fearless violin, melodic bass, and limber guitar, he lit the fuse with Eric Burdon’s Animals during their psychedelic pivot, then rewired Family with country‑tinged elegance and thunderous grace across A Song for Me and Anyway. After Stud and a polished mid‑’70s turn with Moonrider, he stepped out with the 1976 John Weider album before recasting himself in the ’80s as a jazz/new‑age stylist on Intervals in Sunlight, Essence, and Ancients Weep. In 2025, Think Like A Key Music honors the quiet fire with the 50th Anniversary CD edition of John Weider, celebrating a musician for whom versatility was never a detour—it was the main road.
