Wallsend Weekend Television is the second album by Novelty Island, the bizarre-pop project of Liverpool-based songwriter/producer Tom McConnell. Work on it began in 2018 at the Abbey Road Institute. Here, the distinct Novelty Island sound was born out of classic pop, woozy electronics, and northern wordplay. Further sessions would take place at Damon Albarn's Studio 13 and Abbey Road Studios 2 and 3, where there was absolute freedom to explore and create. A full display of primary-colour psychedelia, whittled down from 80 songs to 11, with each song acting like a standalone TV channel. Featuring a much bigger sound, this follow-up is more elaborate and cinematic than the first.
