If Barry White owned a recording studio and Serge Gainsbourg was his engineer, the result might sound something like "Getting Warmer." LA's dynamic duo Matt Tecu and Fernando Perdomo have cooked up an album that's steamier than a Turkish bath house and smoother than silk sheets.

Following up their spontaneous 2024 debut "Art," this sophomore affair proves that lightning can strike twice – especially when you're playing with this much electricity. Recorded in a couple of sultry days, these ten tracks are what happens when two master musicians decide to make the studio their boudoir.

From the come-hither groove of "Low Hanging Fruit" to the champagne-bubbling "tarte à la crème" (featuring Cheyenne Crowe's seductive voice), each track oozes with the kind of sophistication that makes polyester feel like cashmere. Foo Fighters' Rami Jaffee drops by to raise the temperature even further on "Sweat Weather," while "Club Lingerie" struts down the boulevard of broken inhibitions.

This isn't just background music – it's foreground music that just happens to work perfectly in the background. Think less "bow-chicka-wow-wow" and more "how-did-this-get-so-sophisticated?" It's what would happen if Steely Dan decided to score a Fellini film about a jazz club after hours.

"Getting Warmer" isn't just an album title – it's a warning label for your turntable. Handle with care, and maybe keep a fire extinguisher handy.
