Moonrider’s self-titled 1975 album glows with West Coast melody and includes previously unreleased BBC sessions, while Weider’s self-titled 1976 solo LP reveals the gentler, late-night side of the Animals and Family alumnus. Both CDs feature new remasters by Prof. Stoned, richly detailed booklets with fresh notes and rare photos, and exclusive obi strips for collectors. Right band, wrong time — a supergroup that punk made the world forget.

Keith West (Tomorrow), John Weider (Animals, Family), Bruce Thomas (soon to anchor Elvis Costello's Attractions), and Chico Greenwood (Nicky James band) — Moonrider had the pedigree, the West Coast harmonies, and the platform: tours with John Mayall, a spot on Old Grey Whistle Test. What they didn't have was timing. By the time anyone could catch their breath, punk had made soft-rock a dirty word and Moonrider were history. This expanded reissue — bolstered by nine bonus tracks including previously unreleased BBC sessions and the non-LP single "I Found Love" — finally lets the songs make the case the era wouldn't allow.

Fifty years late. Right on time.
