When MOTT Roared and Medicine Head Pounced

Ladies and gentlemen, fire up your time machines and set the dial to 1978 – we're about to witness the birth of a rock 'n' roll beast so fierce, it makes actual lions look like kittens!

Enter British Lions, the supergroup that answered the question, "What if we took MOTT (you know, Mott the Hoople minus Ian Hunter), threw in Medicine Head's John Fiddler for good measure, and cranked the amplifiers up to 11?" These cats didn't just release albums; they unleashed sonic hurricanes. Two records of pure, unadulterated rock that could make your grandmother's china rattle from three blocks away. It was music to headbang to before headbanging was even a thing.

Sure, punk was throwing its safety-pinned weight around, but British Lions were too busy being awesome to notice. They were the musical equivalent of a muscle car in a world of scooters – loud, proud, and unapologetically rock 'n' roll. Fast forward to 2023, and Think Like A Key Music decided it was high time to remind the world what real rock sounds like. They've reissued the Lions' self-titled debut, now a two-disc extravaganza that's less of a reissue and more of a time portal to when rock ruled supreme.

British Lions: Because sometimes, to move forward, you need to roar like it's 1978. Now, who's ready to join the pride?
