While their subsequent release “Fire” would soar to #1 in the UK and #2 in USA, “Devil’s Grip” didn’t trouble the charts, but it stands as a noteworthy release that encapsulated the band’s eerie and irresistible style. As Brown himself stated, “it was the record that introduced all that [demonic] imagery to the rock field, in England at least.”
